14/04/2015

Designed by the artist Oliviero Rainaldi and sponsored by Maserati, “Neptune in the wind” is a carved backlit marble artwork made out of salt white marble from Vietnam.

The piece of art has been backlit by using our one single custom made led panel, one of the biggest LED panel in the world integrated with a carved marble slab.

The project manager Andrea Tognocchi says; “The big challenge for the creation of this artwork was to make the huge bass-relief “Neptune in the wind” in backlit marble of about a ton weight with its satin steel frame included. It has been laminated on 10+10mm glass slabs, and its total measure is of 2470x1870mm and with a thickness from 4mm to 38mm”.

“Neptune in the wind” will be shown at MOCA of Shanghai (Museum of Contemporary Art) from April 10th, 2015. Later this spring, the artwork should go to Tokyo (Japan) and then in Seoul (South Korea) and perhaps to New York also – but places are yet to be confirmed.

At the end of his trip, will return to Italy at the headquarters of Maserati in Modena.
